This week’s COVID-19 public vaccination opportunities: October 3–8

COVID-19 News

September is ending with a decline in COVID-19 cases in Greene County. The weekly average of cases is now 30 cases as of Sept. 29 – a 26% decline in the last 7 days. Hospitalizations remain fairly high with 39 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 in Greene County as of Sept. 29.

Getting vaccinated and receiving a booster remain the best way to prepare and prevent severe illness and hospitalization from COVID-19.

To continue providing opportunities for the community to get vaccinated and be protected against COVID-19, Springfield-Greene County Health will host several walk-in clinics during the week of Oct. 3-8.

In addition to its weekly walk-in clinics, a special booster event will be held Oct. 8 at Hillcrest High School, 3319 N. Grant Ave., from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. for those eligible. Appointments are required for this event and can be made at vaccine417.com or by calling the COVID-19 call center at 417-874-1211.

Individuals who receive a primary (first or second) dose of the COVID-19 vaccine or their first booster shot at a Health Department clinic will receive a $50 gift card while supplies last.
