This week’s COVID-19 public vaccination opportunities: October 31-November 5

COVID-19 News

COVID-19 hospitalizations in Greene County remain high at 46 individuals hospitalized as of Oct. 26. Although this is a slight decrease from last week, taking precautions to prevent hospitalization from severe illness can help hospital staff from being overwhelmed as we continue into the respiratory illness season and other viruses start to spread.

Choosing COVID-19 vaccination remains the best way to reduce risk of hospitalization from severe illness. Additional precautions people in our community can take to prevent the spread of illness are staying home when sick, washing their hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and getting tested for COVID-19 and the flu.

Flu vaccines are available to uninsured or underinsured adults at some COVID-19 clinics hosted by the Health Department which can be found below. Getting both your flu and COVID-19 vaccine in or around the same time is considered safe.

Individuals who receive a primary (first or second) dose of the COVID-19 vaccine or their first booster shot at a Health Department clinic will receive a $50 gift card while supplies last.
