City’s Draft HUD Annual Action Plan available for public review until 5 p.m. July 8, 2022

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The City of Springfield’s Draft FY 2022-2023 HUD Annual Action Plan is available for public review and comment until 5 p.m. July 8, 2022. Written comments may be sent to [email protected]. Copies of the Annual Action Plan are available at the Planning and Development Department, Busch Municipal Building, Room 201, 840 Boonville Avenue, Springfield, Missouri; any of the branches of the Springfield-Greene County Library located within the city limits of Springfield; or via the City’s website.

The City of Springfield’s FY 2022-2023 HUD Annual Action Plan was developed through a coordinated community process to identify housing, homelessness, supportive services, and non-housing community needs within the City. This Annual Action Plan is the second year of the City's 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan. The Annual Action Plan serves as the City’s application for its annual entitlement allocation and provides a basis and strategy for the use of federal funds allocated to the City of Springfield from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME).

The Springfield City Council will hold a first reading and public hearing on the FY 2022- 2023 Annual Action Plan at City Council Chambers, Historic City Hall, 830 Boonville Avenue, Springfield, Missouri, on June 27, 2022, 6:30 p.m. The final vote of the Springfield City Council is anticipated to talk place  at City Council Chambers, Historic City Hall, 830 Boonville Avenue during the 6:30 p.m. meeting, July 11, 2022.

Citizens wishing to sign up to speak at the June 27, 2022, City Council Public Hearing are required to contact the City Clerk’s office prior to the Public Hearing on Monday, April 1, 2022. The City Clerk’s office may be reached at 417-864-1650 or [email protected]
